Boxing for Fitness Training
is one of the most intensive workouts you can do. With the BIGGEST fight in years taking place this Sunday, Mayweather vs McGregor, “Boxing” is on everyone’s lips. I myself have taken up the art a few months ago and since have had my two boys join me. The sure speed of accelerating your hart rate, combined with quick muscle fatigue is unique to this sport and no wonder many have taken up gloves and headed for boxing gyms to go break out a fast sweat.
I joined 2 local brothers that opened a gym, “The Breedt Brothers”.
I get one on one boxing for fitness training with Jaco. I am still learning technique but am sure to be building up to my first boxing sparring on open night Friday.
At my home gym I train in the early mornings the techniques I learned in the week. I add 4kg dumbbells to my training to overcompensate for my gloves and fatigue. I have set myself up a boxing bag, got some super cool gloves and wraps. I also go on a 3km run with my dumbbells and my companion dog Pandora breaking down my combinations while I am running.
This is really a great sport with incredible Cardio Fitness. If your mindset is right you will have a six pack, lean muscle and a fitness level incomparable.
