The top 5 supplements for building muscle:
I have always believed in my natural ability, natural health and being able to be naturally strong enough to take the punch, recover and do it again. I think back now and if my mindset was more open to see the bigger picture and use all the “tools” I had to my disposal I would have had far greater success in training and sports goals in the past. Now at 44 I look to a new future of “growing” beyond the age of 50 and I am planning / preparing myself, (if I should live that long), for it. This means the right mindset, healthy living life style, exercise and fitness, having fun and looking good. I know this is not a guarantee on someones life, but it will sure make the journey a whole lot better.
For now I will focus on an International company that is South Africa’s most used and reputable distributor – USN for S.A. and USN.
The top 5 supplement “tools”
Pre and Post Workout:
Creatine will help your muscles DO MORE. Body or Muscle Building is all about what you put in is what you get out. “10+10=20”, instead of “1+2=2”, if you know what I mean. Lets put it like this, if you are stuck on the same routine, cant increase the weight or repetition on the routine, then try Creatine. Creatine was formulated to give your muscle the extra power to perform more rep’s with heavier weights to increase your body muscle without you even knowing about it.
There are before, during and after supplement formulations available.
2. Beta Alanine
During your training routine your muscles will start suffering with fatigue. Beta Alanine will feed your muscles to perform like an long distance athlete, providing the muscle with the endurance it needs. Beta Alanine is performance driven, formulated to give you the “distance” you need.
For those of you who like coffee and a strong shot of espresso every now and again, will understand the power caffeine has to boost ones alertness. Caffeine based supplements are formulated to give you the mind and body alertness, ensuring optimal use of body and mind functioning together. You will be sure to have no lazy training reps!
4. Whey Protein
Pre and Post Workout:
PROTEIN, the building block of what you need to build your muscles. I discussed in my previous post SPORT NUTRITION AND SUPPLEMENTS various protein rich foods for a healthy living lifestyle. At this point I want to make sure that you understand that supplements are there for you to use as a “tool” to maximize your physical goals and objectives. Your primary source of healthy living and sustainability will always be to educate yourself to eat and live healthily. Whey Protein as a supplement will maximize your physical muscle potential.
Post Workout Recovery:
Who is not going to need to recover after all of that? Zinc, Magnesium and Vitamins will assist your muscle recovery process while you rest or sleep.
My top 5 supplements are there as an overall picture, providing you with some basic information. The supplements market is big, so if you are a first time customer do your research into a well established reputable company who will have a history of research and development. Follow the instructions on the product you choose carefully as incorrect usage will influence the performance of the product and ultimately your end goals.
